Overview
The main parts are the driving flange, driven hub and torque-limiting mechanism between them. The mechanism typically comprises friction discs or blocks, a stack of disc springs providing axial clamping force, and a graduated nut for spring-force adjustment. A disengagement indicator pin and a microswitch-actuating signal device are commonly included, with a housing for sealing and protection.
