Product overview
Spherical grinding media for rotating mills. Balls participate in size reduction through impact and grinding. Diameter, size distribution and material are selected for feed size, mill design and target product size.
Design and configuration
Product groups include high-chromium, low-chromium and multi-alloy cast balls. At equal density and total charge mass, larger balls are fewer and heavier; smaller balls provide more individual contacts and total surface area. Specify the proportions and measurement basis for the complete charge.
Grinding balls and cylpebs · Dimension definitions
A ball is defined by diameter d. Cylpebs also require length L and the end profile to be specified. Structural and application illustrations; confirmed equipment drawings govern geometry, dimensions and configuration.
Mill liners and grinding media · Application
The cutaway illustrates the relative positions of shell liners, end liners and grinding media. Mill type, liner arrangement and media loading depend on the equipment design. Structural and application illustrations; confirmed equipment drawings govern geometry, dimensions and configuration.
Operating conditions and installation
Consider feed and product size, wet or dry operation, charge level and liner condition together. A larger diameter or higher hardness does not by itself establish better grinding performance. Material and inspection requirements are project-specific.
Inspection and maintenance
Record consumption together with size loss, shape changes, edge damage, spalling and breakage. Relate these observations to operating time, throughput and any changes in material or media configuration.
Information for enquiries
State material requirements, ball diameters, mass by size, size proportions and whether the supply is for topping up or a complete charge. For configuration changes, provide addition rates, throughput, product size and breakage records.
